Goals

To help meet the needs of the homeless and working poor in our area.

HOMELESS

1. Meeting Basic Human Needs:

   • Provide a place of safety and peace
   • Assist with obtaining birth certificates and Louisiana ID’s
   • Provide a mailing address and a place to receive mail
   • Serve nutritious meals Monday through Friday.
   • Provide TB testing
   • Assist in obtaining medications

2. Seeking Support and Resources:

   • Partnering with others, i.e. restaurants, service groups, clubs, schools, pharmacies, and churches
   • Funding for services
   • Welcoming and coordinating many volunteers

WORKING POOR

1. Provide limited financial assistance for those who are housed in the boundaries of St. Joseph Church Parish.

2. Provide bags of emergency groceries monthly to those housed within the boundaries of St. Joseph.

3. Provide advocacy when necessary.

4. Collaborate with Tulane/Canal Neighborhood Development Corporation to provide affordable housing for first time low income families and individuals.

5. Provide mortgage readiness training for first homebuyer.
